Coming fresh off of the Nautical Mile 2 (our annual in-house competition) our whole community is amped up and excited about the fun and excitement of the day. We love watching everyone compete their hearts out and pushing themselves further than they thought possible.
Since the competition is so fresh, we thought it a perfect time to talk about the differences between training for health and training for the sport of CrossFit, and yes, there is a difference.
The point of the show is not to highlight the negative aspects of training for the sport, but it is to highlight what is required and expected. You will have to put in hours in the gym, you will have to put as much emphasis on injury prevention and recovery, and you will have to dial your nutrition in.
If that isn’t your goal, if your goal is just to improve your health and wellness, that is fine! You can totally get in the best shape of your life by doing class and getting in and out of the gym in 60 minutes. If you want more, we think that is great and will totally support you, but we just want you to understand what you’re getting in to.
At the end of the day, we support and encourage either option, and want to help you achieve whatever goals and aspirations you have!
